Self-awareness

Self-awareness is the first step to understanding yourself, your ADHD, and the world around you. It’s about noticing your thoughts, feelings, and habits — and learning how they shape your daily life. The more you know yourself, the more power you have to grow, change, and thrive.

Think of this as your mirror: a place to pause, reflect, and discover who you truly are.

🌿 The Self-Awareness Journey

Self-awareness is about noticing how you think, feel, and act — and understanding why. It’s not about judging yourself; it’s about learning how your brain and heart work so you can make choices that fit you better.

Step 1 – Notice your daily patterns
  • What time of day do you feel the most focused?
  • When do you usually lose track of time?
  • What little habits do you do without even noticing? (scrolling, snacking, pacing, doodling)
Mini challenge

Keep a “pattern log” for one day — write down 3 things you notice about your habits.

Step 2 – Explore your emotions
  • What emotion shows up most often in your day? (stress, joy, boredom, excitement)
  • How does your body tell you you are feeling that? (tight shoulders, tapping foot, smiling, sighing)
  • What’s one small thing that quickly lifts your mood?
Mini challenge

Write a “feelings check-in” every evening with just 3 words

Step 3 – Discover your triggers & boosters
  • What situations make you shut down, avoid or procrastinate?
  • What makes you feel energized or motivated without much effort?
  • When do you feel most like yourself?
Mini challenge

Next time you feel stuck, pause and ask: “What’s the real reason behind this?” (tired, overwhelmed, scared, bored).

Step 4 – Play with perspectives
  • If your best friend were in your shoes, what advice would you give them right now?
  • If you looked back at yourself from 5 years in the future, what would you thank yourself for today?
  • If your inner critic had a funny voice (like a cartoon), how would it sound?
Mini challenge

Role-play advice to yourself. Write a short letter as if you’re your own cheerleader.

Step 5 – Celebrate the little wins
  • What did you do today that you are proud of? (no matter how small)
  • Did you handle something better than you usually do?
  • What makes you smile about who you are?
Mini challenge

Write down 1 win per day for a week and see how it feels.

Wanna take it a step further?

You’ve already tried some mini challenges and reflection questions — now it’s time to take it a step further.
Think of this like a little game for your mind 🎮✨

Each level helps you notice more about yourself, and you can move at your own pace.

Becoming more self-aware isn’t about perfection. It’s about curiosity. The more curious you are about yourself, the more power you have to make changes that fit your life, not someone else’s.
